A deeper look at the role of internal process in strategy execution.
A strategy map is a very useful tool to succinctly explain your business strategy. It contains four main perspectives (broad areas you need to work on for successful implementation): Financial, Customer, Internal Process, and Learning and Development (aka Growth, Innovation, People or Organizational Capacity). We usually list the most important foundational perspective at the bottom due to causation effect. Financial perspective is usually at the top because it is a byproduct of interactions between other perspectives, and once we examine the role of Process within that interaction, we realize that when it comes to execution, Process is the holy grail
If you want to improve customer experience, you need to optimize processes. If you want to better facilitate Learning and Development, People, Innovation or Organizational Capacity, then you also need to optimize processes. If you're executing a new operating model, you also need to optimize processes.
Transformations require cultural change. Cultural change come from people change, and people change when you change your way of working, your processes. This doesn't happen overnight. It happens gradually and incrementally, one process at a time. Hence an entire domain was born; continuous process improvement.
But this is hard work. You need knowledge, certification, and experience to know how to capture process elements, create baseline, analyze, then optimize your processes. That's why I created www.ESSAM.ai to seamlessly fix your processes and democratize continuous process improvement.
